One of the things that always bothers me about the assets that come with wonderdraft is that there are no snow capped mountains. How can you have a fantasy map without snowy mountains?!?! …Okay well, I know that its more than possible, but still! So I said to myself, “if wonderdraft doesn’t come with it, then I’ll make it myself!” and so I did, and this is what I got.
I hope you like them.
Please make sure that you know how to get custom colors working in wonderdraft. If you do not, please check the documentation. I have a link to a helpful video there.
Everything you need to make a desert regional map. All symbols come as lineart and lightly shaded “color sample” lineart in the Mountain and Trees options, and as lineart and fully shaded colorable elements under Symbols, with the exception of the cracks which are only in the kit as lineart. The terrain cracks and rocky bits are excellent to add interest to otherwise flat desert terrain, and can be used in all kinds of different biomes.
There are 15 seamless textures for ground and 11 for water.
What will it look like if you use this set with default assets?
It has 6 themes for easy preset map creation.
You can also use the lineart components and texture in Other World Mapper, just grab the folders labelled ‘lineart’ and the two folders from the texture folder and install in Other World Mapper’s folders instead. However, the shaded/colorable features will not work as OWM does not support the coloring technique used in Wonderdraft. Use the in program image manager to install.
There are 3 paths, use for paths or to create topographic terrain effects with the path tool.
