A simple “old-school” style for Dungeondraft
neovatar’s “oldschool” map pack (oldschool-neovatar) (c) 2023 by Thomas Seliger (neovatar)
Licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/)
Includes:
- hatch patterns with variantions as terrain and tilesets
- doors
- paths and various semi transparent paths for shadow effects
- thin wall and inner wall
- objectsA simple “old-school” style for Dungeondraft.
With this Dungeondraft pack I wanted to make it easier to create floorplans and blueprints for your sessions. I hope you have use for it!
Includes the objects and contents as shown in the overview images above.
[over 36 individual objects – 170 in total, 8 individual paths – 27 in total,7 individual patterns – 18 in total and 8 of those also as terrain, 7 individual portals – 44 in total, 7 walls ]
Little Sidenote: I recommend you (especially with the dashed walls) to finish the wall at the respective corners because otherwise the dashed lines look quite odd. This also makes the integrated pillar visible.

This asset pack contains:
– 733 objects (including color variations)
– 3 patterns
– 14 portals (variations included)
– 2 terrains (same as patterns)
– 26 paths (contains some walls)
– 30 walls (variations included)
Almost each object has a colorable version, and an alternative color variation.
Creator Commentary:
An asset pack that was a bit too long in the making. This one originally started as a “maximum security” pack, but then ended up having assets that would go well in a prison, and so the name morphed a little. Hence why this pack has a slight confused identity, lots of traps, security stuff, but also a good chunk of prison stuff. Although those two do go well together. The assets I’m most proud of in this one are the spiked walls. A true classic.

Creator’s Commentary:
This is a a pack we’re quite proud of. It’s got a nice feature complete set allowing you to easily build some overgrown (or not overgrown) post-apocalypse streets. One can even do a sneaky DD pack save file edit for a super quick transition from overgrown to not (not the other way around). Overall this was a very enjoyable pack to make, and it gives lots of ideas for the future. Hopefully, you can enjoy it as much as we did making it.
Map Examples:These maps were made using:
PeaPu_Battle_Post-Apocalypse_Exteriors_01_Overgrown_Streets
PeaPu_Battle_Post-Apocalypse_Vehicles_01
PeaPu_Battle_WW2_Vehicles_Germany_01
+ a little photo-editing shadows/night variations.

A very very simple Dungeondraft pack for those who want pure black and white lines for walls or paths.
The pack contains:
– 29 walls (7 colors, 4 widths + 1 black line in the default style)
– 29 paths (7 colors, 4 widths +1 black line in the default style)
– 7 patterns (7 colors)
Colors: pure white, 5 shades of grey (not 50, sorry), pure black.
Widths: 5 px, 25 px, 50 px, 100 px
Walls and Patterns are also working in the Building Tool.
Inspired by the likes of Mordheim, this pack allows you to create sprawling urban environments for your city-based fantasy campaigns, with assets for both interior and exterior maps. Make your buildings in various states; from the pristine luxury of a monarch’s palace to the lowly dregs of a beggar’s hovel…
…Or throw down a comet; reduce the place to rubble and litter it with strange, glowing stones.
The versatility of this pack allows for other constructed locations too, such as castles, crypts, towers, sewers and dungeons. It is also compatible with my other asset packs, like Underground Caverns and Starship Tiles.
Important: Requires Dungeondraft v1.1.0.4 (Ballistic Phoenix) or newer. The pack will not appear in your list of assets if you are using an older version of the software. Please note that due to limits on file size on Cartography Assets, I’ve had to separate the pack into two separate files (objects only, and then the rest in another).
See a video of the pack in use here: https://youtu.be/v5TRzeOgKB0

CONTENTS
7 half-timbered walls with varying degrees of detailing (i.e. plain wattle & daub to cross-bracing). All wall ends are a wooden post.
15 objects for extra detailing:
- 5 types of wood studs and posts (colorable)
- 6 types of cross-braces (colorable)
- 2 types of windows (1 colorable)
- 2 doors (colorable)
14 portals to work with the wall system – prefaced with an [HT]:
- 6 variations of glass window
- 6 variations of shutters
- 1 wood door
- 1 wood double door
1 path of wood support beams (a jetty) to indicate cantilevered floors (bay windows)
TIPS
- Make sure “Bevel Corners” is off to get the best corner post look
- Draw counterclockwise if the focus is on the exterior of the building (as for making a town map with multiple buildings)
- Draw clockwise as the perimeter walls of your building for a single-building encounter map and use another top-down wall system for your interior walls
- Mix & match walls for more variation
- Wall default color is white and all portals will match the color.
- Snap to the grid if you want the best functionality
- If you want crazy, crooked off-grid walls, you can totally do this, but you may just have to use the object versions of the portals and posts to clean up afterward
- If you decide to change the color:
- use the object version of the windows and place overtop of the wall (the portal versions of window sills and wood will not match your wall)
- if dropping in the objects, color pick match the “plaster” of the wall to get the best match
Pink fluro lines as walls and paths for Dungeondraft. Made in photoshop with a simple brush.
This one took a while to put together, but I’ve been using it in my personal maps for a few months and it’s been invaluable for dungeon-delving. Bloody altars and sacrificial pools are a staple of almost every fantasy adventure, so I built an entire pack around the theme of ziggurats, Mesoamerican temple architecture, and setting-agnostic Snake People™.
Honestly, I’m mostly here for the moss. I didn’t realize it while making the pack, but little tufts of moss are honestly the most-used objects I ever put in an asset pack. I always like putting in at least one universal thing amongst all the niche stuff, like custom Snake People™ statues, iron manacles and bars for prisoner cells, and bits of lab equipment for poisoners workshops. Heck, I even dropped in some bath niches for the Snake People to bathe in. It’s colorable, so it’s up to you if its water or blood! Oh, and you can’t have sacrificial altars without ossuaries filled with bones! And don’t forget to drop a bloody heart or guts on the floor when default bloodstains don’t sufficiently convey the grisly mood.
One thing I could never really get perfect are the walls. The way they colorize just doesn’t look great unless you go REALLY subtle. Still, they’re great to have in your mapmaking toolbox, so I kept them in! Especially since sloped walls really aren’t a thing in most map packs… I can kinda see why now. They’re really difficult to make in a modular way!
Hope you all enjoy! This one is definitely more niche than most of my packs, but I think you can get some great use out of it. Especially the moss. Seriously, I love that moss.
